With the GST (Alternative acro's appreciated!) does it apply to
imported articles, especially where the duties resulting are more than
the $50 soft bottom? I'm looking at bringing in some computer gear,
and want to sneak some Lego with it, but the Duties/GST thing still
hasn't been explained to me very well. (Spent 42 hours on a GST
Software help desk, NEVER AGAIN!!!).

Yes, GST applies to importing LEGO, but of course, the old sales tax 28% no
longer applies. So, theoretically, it should be cheaper to import it now.
However, in practice, most Lego imports haven't been charged sales tax in
the past (for a variety of reasons discussed at length previously), so I
assume this will probably continue to be the case.
