All,

The other day I managed to pick up a whole set of Lego spare parts
from the local educational distributer - bags and bags of cogs,
rubber bands, axles, pneumatic pumps, tanks and switches. Quite a nice
haul actually.

Unfortunately my elation is dampered by the fact that I now have 50
odd pieces that I have no idea what they are for...

On the bag it is Lego Educational division basg 2000630 and a
different bag with the same item is labelled 'wedgebelt wheel' with
a diameter of 11.2.

Could not find the piece on Peeron.

Some googling and hunting found me this online catalog:
  http://www.ils.uio.no/studier/naturfag/ppu/ressurser/DataLego/Legomanualer/Suppleringselementer2003.pdf

The piece in question is on page 3, last column, 4th one down. It
allows an axle to go through the centre and has a rubber ring inside -
presumably to stop it sliding out. The same piece appears on page 5,
in section 5119 with an electrical motor - so guess it supposed to be
used with a motor.

I am sure I will find some use for this piece, but does anybody know
of any sets/instructions that use the piece that will give me some
hints?

Thanks,
  Jay

Here is the piece in use: (URL) didn't go through the whole thing to see what they really do there, but I hope that helps! -plucky (16 years ago, 31-May-08, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Really? It's pretty easy to find, if you know what it's for: (URL) been several years since I had to try to find a listing based solely on the design, though, and even then it's included in the core LDraw catalog if you dig through the TECHNIC (...) (16 years ago, 31-May-08, to lugnet.loc.au)

Thankyou all for your help, it is indeed: (URL) you know what you are looking for, it is much easier. The funniest thing about all this, according to Peeron I actually already have two of these, just didn't recognise them for what they were. Thanks (...) (16 years ago, 2-Jun-08, to lugnet.loc.au)
