Hi Everyone!

Brickvention is now just under two weeks away. The committee are very excited as
they can finally see all of their hard work coming together.

For those new to the concept, it's a gathering of Lego Fans from all around
Australia (and overseas) and it will be held on the Australia Day long weekend
(25-27th January) in Melbourne, Australia.

The website has had a significant update over the weekend and it is hoped that
all the information you seek is now available to you. Please let us know if
there is something missing! Check out the Brickvention 2008 section at
http://www.brickventures.com/index.php/Brickvention-2008.html

Some things to consider:

**If you haven't yet signed up, then you should try and do it *before* the
event. It makes it a lot easier for the organisers as we get a true indication
of the number of people attending. It also means that you'll have a proper
membership badge rather than one that is made on the day.

** If you're planning on attending and are keen to display your MOCs then
contact the organisers to arrange an allocation of table space. This needs to be
finalised by 24th January (the Thursday before the event). Email the committee
using the Contact Us link on the website. It is unlikely that there will be
space available "just in case". Once you have arranged your allocation of space,
make sure you print off some "place cards" for your MOCs.

** Likewise, if you are planning on selling at Brickvention, contact the
committee to ensure a table is allocated for you. A couple of sellers have
already registered and it looks like they'll be digging out some great stuff for
you to buy.

** There will be two BrikWars games running on the Saturday. Check the website
for the tech levels and additional information. There will also be two demo
games running on the Sunday.

** The Build-in-the-bag and the Timed Build competitions will run again this
year. In addition there will be the mysterious Team Duck competition. Teams will
be formed on the day for Team Duck. Dirty Brickster will occur at the Crown
Complex Food Court from about 6.30pm on the Saturday. A (wrapped) set to the
value of $15-$10 is required to participate. Check out the website for details
of these events.

** Due to the popularity of the raffle last time, the committee have decided to
make it a permanent feature and have already sourced some excellent sets.

** Sunday is the Public Open Day. If you can't make it for the whole weekend,
you might like to pop by and just have a look at the creative work of those
attending. Details of opening times are on the website.

Feel free to ask any questions either directly to the organisers or on this
forum. This message will be cross-posted to a number of forums/lists/groups. If
it doesn't appear within 24 hours on a Lego related group that you belong to,
then make sure you copy and paste it yourself! We should all be involved in the
promotion of the Lego Community!
