Hi all,
on the 1, 2, 3, May the Brisbane Lego Train Group participated in the
Brisnane miniature train show, at the RNA showgrounds.

Firstly for the lugnet.loc.au readers this is the second post re this (thank
you Peter), but for others enjoy.

Again I must also do a big thank you to the guys for producing a great
display and to the gal for coming along and helping. Mindstorms units played
a big part of the display this year,

Seeing the best way to explain it all is to see the pics
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=82446.

* Young Callium did a great job with his military base.
* Gary's grain silo was great, it was a shame we couldn't get the mindstorms
(#1) prog running properly
* Marks bridge looked great (better in grey than blue mate)
* I liked my bridge (biased i know), and the river scene with Peters boats
and the MVA scene was pretty cool as well.
* Marks water tower was a clever use of a fabuland ferris wheel plate.
* I threw in a few items for a works dept.
* Kens train wash and train shed with my train shed looked great and setup
the works yard really well.
* The town scene put together by all of us looked really great, as was well
intergrated into the display.
* The mindstorms (#2) boom gates that I built looked great WHEN they worked
(about 5%) and required constant adjusting. will have to refine that one.
This MS unit also controled the lights for the MVA scene.
* Marks monorail worked great and Garys monorail cars looked great as well.
* Many thaks to Micheal for the use of his structures, woolies was a great
hit.
* Gary's fair ground was absolutly fabulous and was easily the best creation
on our display. Many traditional train buffs were overheard to comment on
the fair ground rides. It was controlled by mindstorms units (#3,#4).
* The cargo port was built with stoick from Aaron., Ken, Peter, Gary.
* Garys traverse worked realy well, but unfortunately it was on the wrond
side of the table (next time). This was controlled also by a mindstorm unit
(#5), and all the store rails had power as well.
* We at times had the mindstorms (#6,#7) running the trains as well. on the
outside track the large passenger trains moved back and forth around the
loop. On the inner track the train ran in one direction and would stop at
the station.

Some stats:
* 11 power transformers
* 5 speed controllers
* 7 mindstorm bricks.
* lots of bricks.

Aaron

(...) Absolutely fantastic photos, not only is the display getting better but so is the photography. Some really great shots Aaron, Well done. Great effort. These are going on the BLTG web site. Impressed Gary (21 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.town, lugnet.trains)
