In lugnet.loc.au, Robert McLean announced:
Hi, I have been thinking about the dinner event on Saturday, and chatting with other Australian AFOLs who will attendand I have decided that it will probably be better to declare a time and venue rather than make a suggestion.

Carpe Diet!

   So here goes:

Dinner @ The Star City Casino, in the Fortunes Restaurant buffet area, 7:30pm. http://www.starcity.com.au/dir013/internetpublishing.nsf/Content/FortunesRestaurant

Price: Dinner from $14.95 (members*) from $18.95 (non-members) Prices & menu are subject to change on public holidays & special events such as Mother’s Day & New Year’s Eve.

Look at this link for parking details and how to get there: http://www.starcity.com.au/dir013/internetpublishing.nsf/Content/LocateUs

If there are major problems with this choice, well, frankly it is getting a bit late for that, just send me hate mail. And remember, it is about the people, not the food or venue...

It would be good to see a show of hands regarding who is coming along... count me in, and Mel and Ross and Cade.

Consider my hand raised.

For the day’s activities, I suggest (or proclaim, perhaps) the following meeting places and times:
  • Central Station Concourse, at 11am, outside Hungry Jacks.

  • Meet at some convenient location at Parramatta (and I have no particular knowledge of a convenient location in parramatta... how about the toy section of Grace Bros?) at Noon.

  • Catch the 2:30 Ferry at Parramatta (to travel to the city)

  • Circular Quay at 3:30 pm Outside Terminal 5 (the parramatta terminal)

  • Somewhere else convenient (Hobbyco?) @ 4pm

  • Casino at 7:30 pm (as outlined above - or maybe earlier?)
Please respond if/when you plan to join in...

Cheers

Richie Dulin

(...) I'll pick up the parade around Parramatta. Will other people have mobiles on them? It's easier to co-ordinate meetings if so. My number is oh four oh four eighteen eighteen eighty. I think the times are a little squeezed, it may take longer (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.au)
