Spent the last two day of 06 in the Park, photographing sculptures, visiting
with employees, and picking up a few more discounted sets. Its been interesting
seeing the effect of the temporary Lego shortage in the park. The Big Store is
devoting 6 to 8 shelf spaces to each item in their shrinking inventory. The
Clubhouse, home of the biggest pick a brick in the country, is keeping the bins
full by filling the same type and color of brick into several locations. One of
the managers said they would have sold a million wheels last week, if only they
had ANY wheels. Parents in the Big Shop were having trouble finding any
merchandise in the $20 and under range, as the store is pretty much stuck with
older $50 to $300 dollar sets. My wife and I are sure looking forward to the
flow of new product starting up soon.
