Leadership Changes at LEGOLAND® California

CARLSBAD, Calif.,-- Bill Haviluk, president and general manager of LEGOLAND®
California has announced his retirement from the LEGO Company consistent
with its senior management practices.  John Jakobsen, general manager of
LEGOLAND Deutschland, has been appointed the new general manager for
LEGOLAND California.  Haviluk will assist Jakobsen with the transfer of
duties during the next several weeks.

Haviluk, 59, is a 30-year veteran of the theme park industry.  He joined the
LEGO Company in 1997 when he was appointed President & General Manager of
LEGOLAND California.  During his six years with the company he oversaw the
groundbreaking and grand opening of this park that entertains nearly 1.4
million guests a year and which enjoyed record profits in 2002.  During his
tenure with LEGOLAND, he was closely involved with the planning, design and
execution of the new LEGOLAND Deutchland in Germany.  Prior to working with
the LEGO theme parks, he began his career in the industry in 1973 with Six
Flags and was President of Six Flags St. Louis for many years.

Jakobsen, 39, has been with the LEGO Company for 18 years during which time
he held various positions including Global Market Research and has worked
for several years at the LEGO Company headquarters in Denmark.  Jakobsen
joined the LEGOLAND park segment of the business in 1990 and was
instrumental in the early planning and strategic direction of LEGOLAND
Windsor in England. He spent three years living in Carlsbad and was involved
in the site selection of LEGOLAND California prior to its grand opening in
1999.  Most recently, he served as general manager of the LEGOLAND park in
Germany, which opened in May 2002.  Jakobsen will relocate from Germany to
California in the next few months with his wife and three children.

Haviluk, and his wife Barbara, will continue to reside in Carlsbad.  After
the transition, Haviluk plans to consult within the industry and entertain
new business opportunities.
