Dear Lego Direct;
With the introduction of the Lego Factory/Pick a Brick site you have given to us
a huge resourse. Thank you. There are some items that I, personally, would love
to see reintoroduced to the Pick a Brick assortment. I understand that not all
pieces can be made at all times, but there seems to be a great market for them
within the AFOL community.
With the introduction of the Ultimate Train set we see that Lego has
reintroduced some great pieces that were long missing. In that same vein here
are some parts that I think should be reintroduced:
1).the split level train base in light grey and other colors. This could even be
reintroduced with a re-reintroduction of the club car, (still a very popular set
that commands a high price on the secondary market).
2). The 9v train light set. What happened to this? This is a great acessory that
NEEDS to be brought back.
3). Train wheels and bogey plates. Yes we can buy them on PAB, but which wheels
and which axel does it take?
4). 1x6x5 Window frame in light grey. Very useful piece that was only produced
for one set.
5). hinge windows in clear from the Club Car set. Again a great piece that still
commands a high price on secondary market.
6). Increase the amount of pieces for PAB and offer multiple colors for each.

There are many pieces that are very hard to find and would benefit both the AFOL
community and Lego Factory sales. With an increase in the amount of product
offered by PAB this would draw sales away from secondary sources and put the
money back into the company. We all love the product. We all want you to be here
for a long time. Help us help you.

Hi Damon,

I enjoyed reading your post and share many of the same sentiments.  I recall
LEGO saying somewhere that generally speaking, sets re-released as Legends do
not sell very well.  This seems odd to me, since I would jump at the chance to
buy an Airport Shuttle, Railroad Club Car, or Black Seas Barracuda.  But I guess
it is true - at least in the case of the 10001 Metroliner, it seemed like
numerous copies of this set turned up at below-retail prices, indicating that
the initial release did not sell well.  So perhaps that drives TLC away from
releasing Legend sets somewhat.  Also difficult is that the Club Car, at least,
is in old gray and uses the now-outmoded hinge design for the viewing dome
portion. These factors might make a re-release at this point prohibitively
expensive.  At a minimum, it would be great to see the drop-bottom wagon base
released again.

It would also be nice to see the light unit put back on Shop at Home.  That set
is still produced, since it is offered in sets like the R/C Cargo Train.  For
those of us who do not want that set (for $150), it would be nice to have
another source of train lights.  In fact, for a while, I produced my own
LED-based train headlights and sold quite a few through Bricklink.  These were a
good deal brighter than the stock light kits.  Presently, I am not producing any
new kits, but I might in the future if there is sufficient demand for them.

The standard train wheel, "Train Wheel Ø16.6/Ø23" (on Pick-a-Brick) fits on the
axle "Axle F. Bear.Elem. Ø2X44".  The smaller train wheel, "Trainwheel
Ø8.2/14.6" fits the same axle that nearly all LEGO cars and trucks do. If you
want to match the gauge of LEGO tracks, use the piece "Bearing Plate 1X4,
Double" in conjunction with that wheel.

Alternately, in LEGO Digital Designer, you can insert already-complete
wheel-and-holder assemblies, then order these.
