COLTC is planning an upcoming show for 2 months at a Museum in Groveport
Ohio and we are trying to come up with a name for the show. They would like
to use LEGO Mania. With all the disclaimers related to LEGO.
Does anyone know if there will be any problems with Groveport calling the
show LEGO Mania or LEGOMANIA or LegoMania or LEGOMania?
Thanks in advance!

I would guess that LEGO wouldnt approve of that usage.

Perhaps if officially asked, LEGO would say no. If they dont know about it,
they cannot complain until after the fact.
Some alternate names for the event could be:
-- plastic brick mania
-- little building brick mania
-- contruction toy building block mania
Of course, the general public wont know what the heck is being talked about. I
say use LEGO in the name of the event. Lego bricks are what the event is all
about, after all.
It is too bad the the LEGO company has the same name as the LEGO brick and that
no good, understandable alternative generic word exists. If no generic term
exists to describe and define the product, then the trademark name is the most
logical to use. So, have your LEGOMANIA event and have a good time. Unless you
think that Plastic Building Block Mania will be a better name for your event.
