All,

I have gotten a few questions about what has changed with the 10040 Main
Street legend. Below is a list of a few of the changes. When we started
researching bringing this back, there were a few other issues that we were
able to address. We had to dig up a number of old moulds, while some were
destroyed some time ago. Remember the original product was launched in 1980!

- Road plates: The decorated road is wider than the old ones as we have
introduced wider cars in the 1990's i.e. in Junior, Jack Stone. This also
means that the new road plates have one stud row less than the old ones. The
new road plates have "rounded" green stripes and not pointed like the old one.

- Crane rails: The rails that the crane slides in have been changed too.
Each rail used to be made out of two long plates, now they are made out of
4, half the length of the old ones, obviously. Because of the "missing stud
row" mentioned above we also had to change the way that the rails were build
onto the studs via blue elements. We have added a couple of blue elements to
be able to attach the rails without the extra stud row.

- The woman in the set is wearing a new hair that was developed for LEGO
SYSTEM Paradisa in 1992 instead of her original hair.

- The wheels for the cars are also new. The pattern on the rim has been changed.

- Apart from the above, some printed decorations on elements have been
changed to labels.

- We have made alterations and/or new photos to the packaging to reflect all
of the above changed since it is required by law that the front of the
packaging shows a 1:1 photo of what you will find in the box.

Hope this is useful!

Jake

Hi Jake,

You forgot, that one of trees in the original set, has been replaced by a
spruce tree in 10040!
