I've just bought my first sets with the new colours in and the new brown colour is the same as a popular brand of chocolate (candy) here in the UK. I wouldn't read too much into the colors, as they have varied all over the map in the past, for instance, consider the color shown in the catalog for the mixed blue plate pack, it's way off LEGO blue. My post is in reference to the packs of 50 2x4's each, not the special '10,000 run only' release of the older colors in assorted sizes that your link refers to. (...) Hello LD, I noticed on lego.com that the packs of 50 dark gray and light gray 2x4 bricks are available for back order, ready to ship in May (as well as light gray 2x2 bricks). I am wondering if these are going to be the new colors or not. I am (...) (20 years ago, 6-Apr-04, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Snip I believe that the one on the left is a newer mold (entailing a slight saving in material used) and the one on the right matches my bricks dating back to the mid '70s, so it's at least that old. And I think that you seem to be right - these days I see a lot of activity from TLC in Russia - various campaigns with other brands, TV advertising etc., there was nothing like (...) (...) The 1x4 whites in Tantative IV (if I remember correctly, I built it 10 days ago) are of both types. It got my attention since I never saw two versions of the same piece in the same Lego set. Why is it that (acording to an official page at lego.com), Russia (of all places) is getting a Lego Store (in moscow) but countries with probobly a much greater market (e.g. Australia or Canada) arent? (20 years ago, 5-Apr-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.general)

OH BOY Rosco you just NOW looked at the bottom? You know, Clark has been tracking this for AGES... The "new" brick looks to be just molded in an older mold, as they seems to vary from set to set for me, sometimes I get the ones with the holes in the (...) (20 years ago, 3-Apr-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

(...) I did a little check on my 1xn bricks and saw this "problem" on all types and colours, from 1x2 to 1x8. In my opinion, there are two or more moulds, each with a little difference, and they change them every now and then. (For cleaning and (...) Has anyone else noticed this? It seems newer 1x6 & 1x8 bricks have a different mold. See this comparison: (URL) older brick on the left has holes in the bottom studs, but more importantly, the flanges on studs 2 & 4 don't go all the way to the (...) (20 years ago, 3-Apr-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

(...) Incorrect. On a scale of 1 to 10, four years ago Lego was a 10 and Mega Bloks was a 3. Today Lego is a 9 and Mega Bloks is a 7.5. Just as you said - clear roofs on large structures. Or LTCs that paint their tables - build a building on clear, and drop it on a table. Or paint a table blue, and drop these over it.
