Desiring Machine (was Re: You get to choose!)

(...) Spoken like a collector without regard for what others may or may not have in their collections. I see this as a kind of greed on your part, pure and simple. Others, who for reasons of youth or having made different spending choices in the (...) (23 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: You get to choose!

Excellent stuff Jake, I shall be voting but... I do have one small cavil and I really hate to do it after you have put in so much work but there has still been no Technic Legend. Is this because Technic sets are so large that it is feared they would (...) (23 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.technic)

Re: You get to choose! (first none-"Wow"-answer)

(...) Hi Jake and people at lego.direct, I am not glad about the idea of the legends at all (in the way they are done so far). I gave my opinions in lugnnet.trains when the Metroliner 10001 has been released (That is in fact the only train set I (...) (23 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: You get to choose!

Thanks, but it didn't work. In Communicator 4.79, it loaded a blank page when I tried to go to the voting area. (GO button for the surveys area). I loaded it in IE5.5SP2, and it loaded blank too, so I hit Reload. After that, if I clicked the GO (...) (23 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: You get to choose!

(...) Yeah I pretty much voted the same way you voted, Aaron, as I feel the same way about the sets in question. I'm crazy about castle too, so I'd get multiple copies of 6074 for the grey bricks, walls, and corners. And those minifigs! I only have (...) (23 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) WELCOME BACK, BLACK SEAS BARRACUDA! Ok, it's a premature statement, but of the 5 listed, it is by far, the greatest of the 5! Be sure to vote and bring one of the 5 back (hint: vote for the BSB! LOL)! -EmeraldOak (Robert) (23 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: You get to choose!

Waa Hoo! Those are all great sets that I would like to get. Of course being a space fan my vote had to go to the best space theme ever, Blacktron. I would be almost as happy with a Falcon Fortress though just for the grey pieces. -Mike Petrucelli (23 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: You get to choose!

(...) Wow! I think it's great for Lego to give us such a great selection to choose from. While I'm leaning towards the 6285 or the yellow castle, I am wondering about the comment on the new tree for set 6390. Will this be a NEW tree (unlike any (...) I had to vote for the Barracuda :P All of the other sets can be built, or very nearly so, from easily accessible pieces. The Barracuda, however ... those pieces are a treasure! -s (23 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) I too voted for 6390 for the simple fact that it was going for in excess of $100 on E-bay, and it would be sold for around $60.   Re: You get to choose!

The voting page mentions some changes required for the yellow castle, but I didn't see anything about the little red windows. Could this set possibly come with the real 1x1x1 windows? I need to know before I register to vote. :) Don (23 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: You get to choose!

Re: LD's Auctions (Re: Going once, going twice, sold!)

(...) That's not correct. The document just says that you have a limited edition, not what number. And the stickers are not personalized. There is a *printed* tile that is personalized, however, with a unique number from 1 to 9999 for each set. (...) (23 years ago, 10-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: LD's Auctions (Re: Going once, going twice, sold!)

(...) This is very true. However, the REAL concept of the Limited Edition has to be taken into consideration. The example you gave is not a "real" limited edition.   Re: LD's Auctions (Re: Going once, going twice, sold!)

[snip] (...) I would disagree here. With the good part assortment in hard to get colors, that background would no doubt sell very well. Not to display the engine but to cannibalize for parts.   Re: LD's Auctions (Re: Going once, going twice, sold!)

Another previous instance of TLC marketing things in this manner (...) (23 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: LD's Auctions (Re: Going once, going twice, sold!)
