It’s with great pleasure I announce the next cycle of the LEGO Ambassadors. There were a great number of applications, with almost all of the current Ambassadors re-applying. The application pool spanned the globe, and were chocked full of personal factoids, event recaps, hilarious stories, and other LEGO Moments. • -snip- Thanks very much to everyone who submitted an application. The field was incredible this time, and decisions were tough. Reading about all that is happening in the community reminded me how amazing this community is.

The applicants ‘spanned the globe’? That’s interesting, but it leaves me wondering why the ambassadors don’t.

Now, I am not a disgruntled failed applicant, nor am I questioning the qualifications of those selected.

But we read press releases from Lego which say “Consumer sales of LEGO products showed a positive trend in all markets – in the US, Europe and especially in Asia” (my emphasis), but yet there is no one from Asia on the list!

Surely, if the application pool did span the globe, it could be hoped that someone from other than Europe-North America could be selected. Why this apparent bias? Were the applicants that bad? What *was* the regional split of applicants?

Surely, as sales increase in Asia, some representation of Lego by fans in the region would be a good idea.

The first cycle was 15 seats, but in cycle 2, we’re moving to 20 seats. I have a feeling that this is a better number, but you never know - in cycle 3 we might go back to 15. It’s all about the flexibility, right?

Maybe it should increase to cover the non euro-north america crowd?

Without further ado, and in no particular order, I give you your 2nd Cycle Ambassadors!

And my congratulations to them all. As I said above, I am not questioning their qualifications.
