Correction - that's 5 studs on the original, with the light on the fourth stud.
In the new one it's a gap of 4 studs, with the light on the third stud.
The one with the aircraft visible has 7-stud verges either side of the runway;
the new one has 6-stud verges, causing the misalignment with the roads into the
building.

| (...) Okay, I've now received the new Shop@Home catalogue, and it allays some of my concerns, though it's still not quite cheesey peas all round. The picture in the catalogue (and this is the one Huw scanned originally), does appear to show the new (...) (20 years ago, 15-Sep-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)
