(snip)

This is a fairly radical opinion, I guess, but I'm not convinced that the 9V
track is one of the "key" pieces to keep in production in old dark grey. I know
it's different but frankly, this is an area where reality DOES vary. Railroads
replace ties all the time, and ties weather at different rates, even concrete
ones.

Personally, I think the detail parts are as important, or more important, than
the bulk bricks... although bulk bricks matter too!

(...) What kind of detail parts? I'm hoping to put together a list that I can pass along. Thanks! Jake --- Jake McKee Community Liaison LEGO Community Development (21 years ago, 5-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

(...) You HAVE to be joking.... there's NO railroad tie, either wood, concrete or whatever other material that has such a blue tone in it. They'd even do better to simply convert it to brown than to use the new dark grey color. -- Jan-Albert van Ree (21 years ago, 5-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

You’d think I would have learned my lesson by now about the color change and just taken refuge in a concrete bunker. Nope, not that bright I think! I come to you with a final update, and some good news, as well as bad. Bad news first – After much (...) (21 years ago, 5-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.announce, lugnet.lego) !!
