Hello all!

I have just finished up some BI’s for a brand new model I have been working
on (that is off-and-on) for the past several months. It is…the 12A1HG (#12
Axle-Single Shot-HandGun) TECHNIC Gun! This gun is in fact made to be held in
your hand, and can shoot TECHNIC axles with the pull of a trigger from a
distance of several feet (4-6?) to clear across a room with an optimized version
I tried out! The entire model is of my design, with the exception of a mechanism
I found in a book which I implemented here in my own way. This vital mechanism
rams the projectile by rubber band power and is quite interesting (and amazing!)
indeed! The BI’s include steps for the gun, ramrod (you’ll understand when you
build it!), and a little tutorial to show you how to use it. To see an image of
the gun, go here:

To get to the instruction steps, try going to its link at the BIPortal:

Normally I do MINDSTORMS things, but I also like to tinker around with
TECHNIC mechanisms. I also have an interest in LEGO Ballistics (launching LEGO
pieces!) and recently developed my “Axle Launching Mechanism” which also has
instruction steps. If you would like to get the BI’s for this mechanism, go
here:

Finally, I would like to say, feel free to tinker around with this model! I
HIGHLY recommend for anyone to mess around with this model and try different
things. I really don’t have the time to make this a very nice, absolutely
complete, extremely functional model, so I challenge you to see what you can do!
There are also many variables that effect the performance of this model: the
rubber band, how far the rubber band is placed, the size of the axle, the
placement of the 1x1 “holey” bricks the axle goes through, and I am sure much
more! So please feel free to develop you own version and to make the gun look
even nicer. Have fun!

REMEMBER: when the gun is loaded, please don’t point this at anyone’s face!
Although this gun is not powerful nor harmful (it uses the energy of stretched
rubber bands to knock a axle out of a hole), it is still not a good idea to aim
this at anyone’s face when it is loaded.
