I have finally finished, six months in construction, Hogwarts School of
Witchcraft and Wizardry.  A project I'd long contemplated finally became
reality
and was completed Thursday night.

My concept for Hogwarts was to base it somewhat visually upon the school
as seen
in the movies and Lego (tan buildings, green spires, black roofs), but to
go for
height as opposed to width or length.  The concept was that the four
founding
wizards stood atop a mountain in the Highlands of Scotland, and literally
pulled
the castle from the rock below.  (Well, it's never said HOW they built it,
so I
figure I have some room to manuever).

My brickshelf gallery is located
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=162696

I am in the process of uploading photos in sections corrosponding to
locations
on the castle.  There are very few interiors (I'd like to correct that in
a
future version), but I think the exterior is exciting in and of itself.

Please, let me know what you think.

Jeff:

This is incredible.  I love all of the details that you have packed into a
relatively small land area.  By stretching uthe castle vertically, you've
really infused it with a "magical" feel.  If not supported by magic, the
castle would likely collapse upon itself.  I think my favorite thing is the
multiple turrets soaring upwards, each striving upwards, yet neither
competing nor overshadowing the others.  One (extremely) small cirticism -
putting the clock atop the highest tower isn't working for me.  To my eyes
it interrupts the visual symmetry of all the other towers (which all have
sand green roofs).

Any chance of a full picture (the "final" picture cuts off the bottom)?
