HP Knight Bus - 4755

The new HP Knight Bus is now available in limited quantities in the UK

The colour of the bus is either a new colour or a previously very rare one - see
my postings with pictures either here or BrickLink/Colors

A quick part count from the instructions indicates there is a reasonable range
of parts in the new colour in usable quantites
Bricks : 1x1 (20), 1x2 (16), 1x4 (3), 1x6 (6), 1x10 (5), 2x4 (4), 2x6 (6)
Curved bricks: 1x2x1&1/3 (4 - pn6091), 2x4x1&1/3 (1 - pn6081), 1x4x1&1/3 (7 -
pn6191)
Plates : 1x1 (2), 1x2 with 1 stud (1), 1x4 (1), 1x6 (1), 2x2 corner (4), 2x6
(2), 4x4 (3), 4x6 (2)
Windows: Train 1x2x3 without glass (2), Train 1x4x3 with glass (18)
Others: Door 1x2x3 right (1), Freestyle wheel (4), Slope 33deg 3x1 inverted (2),
Arch 1x6 (2)

Other parts of note are a new wheel mounting plate with pins (2), the Knight Bus
1x4 tile (2), the windscreen with spider (or something) pattern (1) and a white
45deg 2x2 slope with pillow pattern (3).

The set is packed in three main bags - lower deck + minifigs, middle deck, upper
deck + roof.  The minifigs are Harry and the Driver (with legs, arms, printed
uniform torso and hat in the new colour) - both have "flesh" coloured heads.
The instructions are clear and show some alternative model ideas (a train and a
car).  The box is the same size as the Privet Drive set and has "ghosted
outlines" of the new HP sets to be released later in the year on the back.  This
effect is somewhat redundant as the new sets are clearly shown at the back of
the instructions.

I just got one - thanks for the tip about Argos.

I didn't notice any 2x4x1&1/3 curved-top brick.  I think they're all 1x4.  The
pink flesh colour isn't very convincing, and looks a little weird on a minifig -
particularly in the included brochure.  I think these parts are going back to
Lego with a letter about what I think of the colour changes.

The instructions in mine were of an appallingly lower quality too.  The paper is
cheaper; it isn't as heavy or as glossy as before.  I can barely make out the
individual black parts on the first few pages. And, there's a definite red tint
over a few of the sheets.

The part selection is good, and there seems nothing wrong with the bricks, but
some standards have definitely slipped.

(...) You're right, I confused the engine cover one. (It was a quick inventory from the instructions on the train this morning!) (...) Agreed again. I though they were easy to follow though (important for the kids who build!) William (21 years ago, 27-Feb-04, to lugnet.harrypotter)
