At the End of the 5th Year, All Hogwart students (in 5th Year) take the OWL's
(Ordinary Wizarding Levels).
They are important in that the rest of Hogwarts schooling depends on it,
especially in Potions and in Transfigurations.
It might be fun to try and guess how many O (outstandings) each of the main
characters got.
Not to spoil too much, but we know that Harry is good at Defence against the
Dark Arts, and we know that Hermione probably got a pass on every one of hers
(whether she got all O's is another story). :)
The Subjects
Mandatory:
Charms, Transfiguration, Herbology, Defence Against Dark Arts, Potions,
Care of Magical Creatures, Astronomy, and History of Magic
Electives:
Runes, Arithmancy, Muggle Studdies, and Divination
(students must choose at least 1)
My Personal Predictions,
I think that Harry and Ron will not pass their Divination exams, and
Hermione will be very upset that she didn't get all "O's" on hers, but
she will most likely pass all hers.
