My LDList Parts Search program, http://web.telia.com/~u16122508/ldlist.htm
has some of this functionality. It lets you search either by number, name,
description, KEYWORDs or studcount. It also contains a preview window, so
you can see what you have found.
It also supports a drag&drop protocol, so if you use an editor that
implements that protocol you can drag your found part from LDList and drop
it in your editor.
