This started me thinking about a Lego parts finding engine, in which
you enter attributes such as width, height, number of studs, etc and
the engine returns all the parts that match that.

My LDList Parts Search program, http://web.telia.com/~u16122508/ldlist.htm
has some of this functionality. It lets you search either by number, name,
description, KEYWORDs or studcount. It also contains a preview window, so
you can see what you have found.

It also supports a drag&drop protocol, so if you use an editor that
implements that protocol you can drag your found part from LDList and drop
it in your editor.
