  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) Well, if I hacked the site, I think I'd put a message slightly more flamboyant than "Brickshelf has discontinued operation. We apologize for any inconvenience". But I am not a h@x0r, so I have no idea what goes on in their heads. ROSCO (17 years ago, 15-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) There was a (URL) thread> a couple of years ago where there was a suggestion on BS to transfer all your images to Maj as BS was shutting down, so that should probably have been taken as a warning. Kevin hasn't mentioned anything about it (...) (17 years ago, 15-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) Kevin has almost never communicated with the lego community at all and he's barely updated Brickshelf over the years at all. It looked like it was from 1995. I'm not surprised by this move at all. I'm just hoping it really isn't gone or there (...) (17 years ago, 15-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) I'm glad I kept all my pics--but like Maggie, I have a hard time buying into the theory that someone would just shut 'er down with little/no warning. This has to be a hack job...I hope I'm right about this-- Play Well and Prosper, Matthew "The (...) (17 years ago, 15-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) Actually, I can - it would have swamped his server, big time. It's gonna take ages to fix all the links on my web pages, and that's even WITH backups of all my pics. And that's not to mention all the links I have to other people's pics... oh (...) (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) Maybe it's been hacked? I can't imagine he wouldn't have given people a chance to save their images.... :-( Maggie C. (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) Kevin's known for taking a good idea, starting something we want, and then abandoning all administration of it. Oh, without passing the torch gracefully. I estimate I probably lost 3/4 of my MOC photos. Aaron (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) Good job giving everyone time to back there stuff up, Kevin Everyone else, get on Flickr. Brickshelf has sucked since the 90's. (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) Nice of Kevin to give us some warning. Jeff (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Problems with Brickshelf?

Just been to Brickshelf and it reports Brickshelf has discontinued operation. We apologize for any inconvenience. Maj still seems to be up Tim (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.general) !!

Re: Back after 5 years - trying to catch up

(...) Impressive as ever. Which reminds me, can lego trains be weatherized (run outdoors)? I have to take that up in .trains (...) From my reading it appears that lugnet went through some management turmoil--unprocessed memberships, infrequent (...) (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Back after 5 years - trying to catch up

(...) Oh, baby, (URL) does it ever!>:-) I use my LUGNET NG as our web site. No jumping ship, here! (...) One might say that LUGNET is a victim of its own success. It brought us all together, and all of the little sects got together and formed boards (...) (17 years ago, 13-Jul-07, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)

  BrickShelf and the bust.

Hello! I was just roaming the recent galleries on BrickShelf. Embedded inbetween the Lego folders was this advertisement: (URL) made me smirk. I remember a picture that concentrated on a female bust covered by a Lego t-shirt once caused uproar and (...) (17 years ago, 11-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: LDD goes Technic

(...) I must say they chose a very creative solution to the issue of how to run cables :) (so as not to tease, each end of a cable is represented by the modular connector and a small length of wire. Colored arrows are used to match up which end runs (...) (17 years ago, 11-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad)

  LDD goes Technic

OK, it looks like the Mac version isn't quite ready for prime-time, but I'm curious if anybody else has noticed this: (URL) tried it out yet? I've got one model (my NXT remote) already made, and the learning curve was far easier than I expected (it (...) (17 years ago, 10-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad)

  Re: color problems with 10190

(...) Thank you, that all makes sense. Some quality issues can be overlooked. However I do not like having different shades when I build something. It makes it look a bit cheap and unplaned. I hope that Lego listens as to the the color problem. It (...) (17 years ago, 6-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: color problems with 10190

(...) Thank you, I knew that I read it somewhere on Lugnet. Reading the article again, it appears that things might get worse unless Lego does something about the quality control in the next three years. (What I understand and this may be wrong is (...) (17 years ago, 6-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

Re: TSRR #500 and the Texas State Railroad Project

(...) Well I have an update, if anyone is interested. It looks as if the TSRR has been saved, but not in the most favorable way. Instead of giving it the money it needs, the Texas Government decided to give operational control to a specifically (...) (17 years ago, 6-Jul-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: color problems with 10190

(...) John, from what I understand, Flextronics took over Duplo manufacturing first. LEGO had molding operations in the Czech Republic, and that factory has been doing very well. Bagging operations in Enfield are being moved to Juarez, Mexico. (...) (17 years ago, 6-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)
