Ive nearly finished the second locomotive in my Texas State Railroad Project,
the Consolodation type #300. As I said in my first post, I am building these
locomotives in support of the Texas State Railroad. If you have the time and
havent already done so, please visit their website and sign the petition to
save the park.

Now on to the MOC:

The #300 is a smaller locomotive than the #500 by about 40 tons, so I tried to reflect that in the MOC. While the
real locomotive has 56 drivers (the #500 has 74 drivers), I decided to use the
BBB wheels even though they are the wrong size proportionately, simply because I
like how they perform better than the other options I have available to me.
This locomotive is much closer to being finished than my #500, but its still a
work in progress. The cab is missing a window (left side) and Ive redesigned
the pistons, but only had the parts to finish one (right side). The other
piston (left side) is the original design, which, while it looks better with a
curve instead of a slope, made the locomotive wider looking than I had liked.
There are also a few parts I need to buy in the right color, and I want to use
curved slopes for the roof. The BBB wheels seen on the MOC are actually stolen
from the #500 (only used for these photos, Ill be returning them shortly); Ill
have to order more when I can afford it.
Thanks for looking!
