Getting Lego Factory to work

Is there a guide on getting Lego Factory to install on my old
computer? It meets the requirements, but all I don't even get to the
file-install screen. I get past the language prompt and the user
agreement and that's about it.
It's a bit frustrating since it seems to prefer locking up the system
instead of simply not working.
