Hi, everybody.

I know that legofan.org seems a bit off topic here, but I have no idea
wherelse to ask...

The first crash of the forums at legofan.org in April has been taken
care of by Richard Morton, one of the admins there, on 29th of April. On
5th of May, the forums crashed again. Since then, nothing happened. Not
even a notice on the starting page (where the no.1 topic is still the
recovery from April).

Is the legofan.org experiment dead?

wondering, Christian Treczoks
Hey Christian. I apologize that we have not been more clear about what is going
on. LEGOFan is far from being dead, but we are certainly in a painful transition
phase right now. Richard Morton has been very graciously running the LEGOFan
site for us, but because of security requirements, he was not able to give
anyone else admin privelidges.  We decided several months ago to get new
hardware that would be owned by the org (allowing for multiple admins), and
procured the hardware shortly afterward. We had been working on a transition of
the site (along with an upgrade that promised to address several limitations
people had mentioned).

Richard has recently had a personal matter to deal with that has kept him
completely occupied and away from access to fix the problems we are again
experiencing on the current site. Due to this and the limitation of only a
single admin, we have stepped up our efforts to get the new system online.
However it is requiring a total rewrite of the site. The server has already been
moved to NorthStar (thanks Eric for all of your help) and I am getting a group
of people together to get cracking on the software. We are using the DotNetNuke
suite of applications, which will give us much more power and flexibility than
we currently have. (P.S. if anyone is interested in helping out, please contact
me and Kelly McKiernan, who is spearheading the rebuild effort.
kelly@bzpower.com).

Again, I apologize that we have become so stagnant lately. We understand the
frustration, and will continue to work as hard as we can to get back up to peak
status.

Thanks
