I hear you. I used to dial up lugnet right after I got home from work each day to see what was new. Now, what’s new seldom interests me so its not high on my list of things to do. I work backwards from brickshelf to see if something cool that caught my eye there go a post on lugnet with more details.

I wonder if lugnet could start a new group like lugnet.lego where people could discuss matters relating to bricks and building. Posts that aren’t relevant to that topic could get automatically siphoned off to a another new group - lugnet.nonlego. Then people could just read lugnet.lego knowing it would be clear of “other stuff”. People who thrive on other stuff would be equally well served and could inhabit the nonlego area.

Of course lugnet.lego could create all sorts of subgroups like castle, train, technic, mecha, pirates, bionicle, belville, moonbase to mention just a few.

I weep in sadness for LUGNET. I feel sad that a majority of people here only come out to opnionate themselves and leave honest builders and their efforts ignored. I weep for what could be. I am sad for the loss of what I had hoped this place to be. (...) (20 years ago, 5-Mar-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)
