  Why "boat stud"?
 
OK, I've thought about this, and I've tried searching LUGNET, but I still don't have an answer. I give up. The round 2x2 plate with a smoothly rounded bottom - why the heck is it called a "boat stud"? (20 years ago, 17-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)
