I believe the timeline goes something like:
April 19th 1998 - kl.net first hosts catalog/instruction scans
August 31st 1999 - kl.net becomes "BrickShelf"
February 10th 2000 - BrickShelf starts hosting personal galleries
February 22nd 2002 - BrickShelf L.L.C. officially owns BrickShelf
February 24th 2002 - hits 100,000 files
June 25-27th 2002 - BrickShelf starts moderating folders
March 17th 2003 - hits 250,000 files
