I’d heard that the change of name from Duplo had been received very badly in Lego’s traditional markets of Germany and Denmark.

It’s a poor show though for any modern company that there’s so much inertia (read: spent money) in a re-branding that they can’t reverse it the instant they realise it’s a mistake.

I can't tell you how many people I have helped in the Lego aisle this past year. People looking for Duplo size Lego were confused. These people were buying products for children that were not their own. (Individuals not familiar with the product (...) (20 years ago, 8-Jan-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.duplo)
