    2004 catalog sighting? —Thomas Main
   There used to always be a lot of excitement on r.t.l. and LUGNET this time of year in anticipation of the first sighting of next year's LEGO catalog. Someone would find it, someone would post scans of it and discussion of all the new sets and parts (...) (21 years ago, 16-Oct-03, to lugnet.general)

Some of the fun went away during the bad years (around 1999) when themes as we knew them submerged, and now there are so many other "leaks" and special treats on the web that the catalog is not so new when it surfaces.      I too have yet to get a 2003 catalog. It seems that the big multipage catalog is not as an important promotional piece as it used to be. If I remember correctly, some sets this year had other sets in the same line displayed in the back of the (...) (21 years ago, 16-Oct-03, to lugnet.general)

   (...) I have asked LEGO for digital versions of the 2004 catalog(s) for display on Brickshelf. I have not seen any catalogs in the 2004 sets I have found so far. KL (21 years ago, 1-Dec-03, to lugnet.general)
