Hi Duane,
I'm sure Jake will jump in here and answer some of these questions, but
there are some I can answer as well;

2) If I upload an inventory, there is no way to delete it. I can only • overwrite
it

We made the decision to launch without a delete function as we identified a
potential infrastructure problem with the solution we originally designed
very late on. We are working on a new delete function and I'm sure Jake will
be able to give an estimated time for this.

3) If my model includes something like

I see <<http://img.lugnet.com/ld/7/731.gif>> &
<<http://img.lugnet.com/ld/7/732.gif>>

as the parts, which aren't usually sold on Bricklink.

You are absolutely correct - there are various parts in LDraw that aren't
sold as individual items on Bricklink, but rather as a complete assembly.
We have had many discussions between us trying to work out how to deal with
this and realised that a solution could be invented, (where we essentially
map parts that make up a complete assembly) but it would have delayed the
initial launching of this application.
Again we decided to launch without a 'parts to assembly' translation
routine, but we are still going to work on this over time.

4) What about some sort of manual BOM tweakage method? That way, if a part
exists in Peeron, but not LDraw, I can include it. It might also help as a
work-around to issue 3.

Not a bad idea! This is something we may consider.

5) I've uploaded about 30 inventories and none of my models include the
inventory link from the

View by Author> page. Browsing by catagory seems to work properly though.

6) There are a couple of parts where the images or information doesn't • come
through such as

<<http://img.lugnet.com/ld/7/2507.gif 2507>>

which also goes by P/N 30058.
<http://www.briktrak.com/modelinv/biportal/viewinventory.aspx?model=549 • See my
9100S inventory>.

Translating between Ldraw and Bricklink part numbers is a very complicated
process and I'm sure you'll agree. Many of the part numbers are identical
which is great, but many are not. For those that are not, our application
uses Part Mapping rules. This is where we basically have scanned the entire
LDraw parts list and mapped them (where possible) to Bricklink part numbers.
We actually have a huge list of these rules, but we know we didn't get them
all.
How the community can help is by reporting any LDraw parts that translate
wrong at Bricklink. Simply leave a posting at the BrikTrak forums
(www.briktrak.com/forums) in the part mapping forum and then one of us will
check the parts and add the rule.
I am working on a page on the BrikTrak website, where you can simply fill
out a form, specifying the LDraw and BL part numbers, which will put the
request into a queue and we will be able to easily add the rule, but for now
a forum posting will do.

7) Lastly, and not necessarily within your realm. Is there any way to show • what
parts are available, or at least a match percentage, of each store • returned from
the Bricklink search rather than having to surf through each store? Some • stores
have multiple lots for each type of part. The inventory above shows one • store
with 118 lots and that doesn't guarantee that I can get all of my parts • with the
one stop. It would be nice to have something like "This store matched 89% • of
parts requested" or some such.

Admin at Bricklink will be adding much more functionality over the next few
weeks. I don't want to give any secrets away, but the page you currently see
is not the final version. He is actually away on vacation at the moment, but
Jake and I decided that we could launch this functionality in a beta form
just so we could let people play with it.
What you see today is just an early preview of some of the ideas we have and
as I'm sure Jake will agree, we have some very exciting stuff planned for th
e future.

Thanks for the feedback - I'll leave now and let Jake jump in if he wishes
to!

Richard.

(...) Cool feature. Some issues that I see: 1) If I want to add another inventory, I have to go through My Account - B.I. Inventory Management - Add/Update. There is no quick link back to the Inventory Management page. 2) If I upload an inventory, (...)
