LEGO® Production, an arm of Danish toy producer LEGO, will build another
production plant for 350 to 450 workers near Kladno in central Bohemia, LEGO
Production Chief Financial Officer Petr Necas said Feb. 6, 2003.
Builder Skanska CZ will launch construction of the 300 million Kc (about
$10.3 million) facility in late February or early March, and LEGO should be
able to use it by Oct. 31, 2003.
LEGO will produce marketing models, gift sets and decorated building-set
pieces in the 16,000-square-meter plant.
LEGO Production opened the first plant in the industrial park near Kladno
three years ago. At that time, the company invested 250 million Kc in
several plants, where more than 300 people now work.
