Not entirely sure where to post this. Copied a few groups, and FUT .basic...
Of the new Designer Sets...

...I ordered 4101, 4097, and 4099 last week and received them within two
days (benefits of living relatively close to Enfield, CT). I haven't had
time to open up 4099 or 4097. But the 4101 is a really fun set. In need of
an encounter for my D&D run on Saturday, I used the enclosed idea book
(which is nice!) to build the red spider (a Giant Spider at mini-fig scale).
This is also the first set I have purchased that comes with a hot-pink
element (1x3 brick I think it was) that scared a bajeezus outa me when I was
reaching for a red brick.
Anyway, in looking at how the enclosed idea book is, and also considering
the kinds of models featured in the other sets in this series, it occured to
me that this series really is, in a way, a new incarnation of Basic
(Universal, Freestyle, etc.). Well, whatever it is, it is *very* much in
tune with the original philosophies of Lego sets, and I think they are just
great.
Doesn't hurt that the boxes say ages 6-99 either. I love that!
Just thought I'd share...
