I hope this is the right group to post this, i didn't seem to find a .poetry
section...
Here's my sonnet i wrote for English class, It is really bad but it was my
first attempt at iambic pentameter. I based it on the italian sonnet style
but i messed up the rhyme scheme.
Sonnet of a Lego Brick
Small bricks of plastic snap together. Me
Can make what wills my mind to have create
With limit bound by what I think is great.
The bricks that I boxed by hue I see.
Bricks plastic by two and four round pegs be
A wall, a floor, a house, a large estate,
Must it not be if I wish it, wait;
Conventions shouldnt be followed when mind is free.
Lego is plastic bricks but so much more,
A card to make what my mind sees. To be
Extended by thoughtful hand to meet
What real and same unreal in one is sure?
A construction of what cannot be seen
In realness that is what my Lego be.
