Hi, it's probably too late now, but here's what I did when I made my Logo.
I found a suitable image online and used a picture-editing program to resize
it down to 48x48 pixels, then back up so it was pixelated right. Then I
reduced the number of colours to 2, so the red and black was grey, and the
yellow and white was white. Then I superimposed a grid, and voila -
reference pic.
(You can see a pic of my Logo taken with my other stuff when I took it to
the National Australia meet in June -
