  Does this look familiar?

Honostly... who choses the entries on the Lego contests? (URL) the highest ranked, and the 'moster truck' look like a familiar brand? Not to mention 2 of the entries are bionicle, and the only model with real talent (probablly done by an AFOL) has (...) (23 years ago, 8-Apr-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Does this look familiar?

I do think they look like clone bricks. LEGO doesn't make an olive green. Jake? Anyone? -Tim (...) (23 years ago, 8-Apr-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) I think they're Mega Blocks. The copter looks alot like a Megablock one. And one of the rules were 'no representation of competing products.' John Kruer (23 years ago, 8-Apr-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Does this look familiar?

(...) Hoooo-eeee! That's not just a model made of Megabloks, it's an *official* Megabloks model.   Re: Does this look familiar?

(...) Well, I can't say I'm directly surprised...looks like Lego doesn't even realize they have competition out there. Do you suppose they even care if the highest ranked model is a *gasp* clone brand? It's sad, really...but It gices you a good idea (...) (23 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Does this look familiar?

(...) Bionicle is Lego. Matt, are you going to walk up to the child with a Bionicle entry and tell her she's disqualified because her preferred toy doesn't fit some AFOL's brick esthetic? - Kyle (fut?) (23 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Does this look familiar?

(...) Hmmmmm... I wouldn't say NO bionicle, just don't have them overflowing the rows. After all,(sadly enough) I guess lots of kids have experience with Lego solely because of bionicle... John Kruer (23 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Does this look familiar?

(...) Strangely enough, their websites look similar too. Except MegaBlocks graph paper background is more useful, since it's broken into brick/3 plates layering... (23 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)
