Your best place to ask questions would be lugnet.pirates, there are several
people knowledgeable on there about real sailing ships.
I'd suggest using pics of real ships as references rather than MOCs. Many
very cool MOCs have features which not only are not realistic but what I'd
call anti-realistic (ie they would cause the ship to fall apart in real
life).
