There's so much good STUFF in the new Fall 2001 catalog that's it's silly to
try and rave about it all. I did want to point out one set in particular
that I'm really excited about - #5415 Feeding Time Accessories ($3.99).  I
recently developed an interest in getting my hands on more LEGO food
elements.  I've collected quite a few pieces of fruit through multiple
Belville purchases this summer.  I also managed to find some ice cream bars
and much sought after bananas in the Shell convenience store set.  The other
big acquisitions were the loaf of bread and roast turkey from the Belville
Enchanted Palace set (5808).  I've now got a pretty good collection of food
elements to use in upcoming projects that include a fruit stand, an ice
cream truck and an animation video set in a tavern scene.

But now that I've started, I want more and that's why I'm happy to see set
5415.  This set has 2 apples (1 light green and 1 dark green), 2 carrots, 1
turkey/chicken drumstick and dairy product items (a bottle, a carton and 2
cups).  Since the set is called "Feeding Time" accessories, I assume it's
supposed to be thought of in a farm type setting which explains the yellow
bucket (with detachable handle), the light green shovel (new color for this
piece?), and the yellow grooming brush.  There's also one plate and to
finish off the menu two sausage weiners.  Finally the set includes a white cat.

Even though I don't see much use for more cats (I already have several), a
bucket that looks big enough for a mini-fig to fit inside it, the shovel or
the brush I still will probably end up getting multiple copies of this set.

I particularly need more of those drumsticks because (yet) another project I
have in the planning stages is a Chicken Shack for my local LUG's town/train
layout (Brickmond).  It's going to look great to see a bunch of mini-figs
sitting outside the Shack munchin' on their chicken.

So, there you have it.  Just one of the many reasons why I'm happy with the
new catalog.

Greg
