Thanks Matt. I woulda taken you up on it but, thank goodness, my mom somehow
managed to get a call through to .il and let us know everyone is OK. My
older sister is in NYC but is OK, and my aunt, uncle and two kids were
*supposed* to board a plane from Boston to CA yesterday, but luckily did
not. My dad is stuck in Seattle but that's not bad news. I haven't yet heard
all the how and why w/r/t my family, but have been glued to the TV ever
since I got off the phones. They were ringing off the hook at my house so
Inbal and I went to sleep at friends' house. It's almost 11 AM here. The
israeli TV has been echoing CNN and NBC newscasts, and the morning news was
all special-edition about the attacks. As per your suggestion I won't even
mention all the ideological discussions going on. All educational facilities
in Israel have lowered their flag halfway, and the gov. has declared a
"mourning day", the first I can remember since Rabin was murdered ('95).
My hopes and prayers with you all over there, take care, I truly hope you
and all your family members are safe.
