Go to this page:
http://www.mindspring.com/~ffilz/Lego/general.html
And scroll down to "Care and Feeding of your collection". I've pulled
together some information (I thought I might have linked to Lugnet posts
on cleaning, but the cleaning section is just my own experiences). If
you search Lugnet for cleaning you should find many posts on the
subject.
I for the first time in ages has NO LEGO sitting soaking in buckets! Of
course I do still have some unwashed LEGO to process, but I know I won't
get to it for several weeks (probably not until after Brickfest for any
heavy duty cleaning, but I do have a few recent acquisitions I should
get cleaned up.
I had a good weekend of washing, sorting, and clearing out. I decided to
reduce from four copies of boxes saved to two, and boy did that make a
difference. I'm really starting to feel like my endless quest of sorting
may be coming to an almost end (of course I will always buy new sets,
but I'm hoping to get to the point of being able to dedicate most
weekends to building instead of sorting and cleaning).
