My first visit to LIC —Jonathan Lill
I went down to Walt Disney World this past week with my wife's family and didn't even realize until I saw it that the Imagination center was a part of Downtown Disney. I visited the Lego store (is it an Imagination Center?) in downtown Chicago and (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: My first visit to LIC —James Brown
(...) <snip> (...) <snip> That's a typo, right? The LEGO Store at Disney World doesn't actually have any copies of <set:4558>, do they? James (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: My first visit to LIC —Frank Filz

Re: My first visit to LIC —Jonathan Lill
(...) I meant set 4561 the Railway Express. I always thought this set was the metroliner (showing my train ignorance). Thanks for pointing it out, Jonathan (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: My first visit to LIC —John Gerlach
(...) Speaking as a former LIC employee (at the Mall of America store) the way it was described to us is that the LIC is NOT trying to "compete" with other retailers (Target, Wal-Mart, Toys 'r' Us, etc...) Those companies sell more LEGO product in a (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: My first visit to LIC —Jonathan Lill
(...) While I understand that point of view I reject the argument because Lego competes against the other outlets via the web and its catalog. They also until recently offered special discounts in the form of free shipping and occasionally sell (...) (23 years ago, 9-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: My first visit to LIC —Rob Doucette
(...) This is common channel management. You don't compete against your main channel which for LEGO is retail stores. Their direct pricing via S@H and LICs for current product is at least MSRP. Stuff available via S@H, LICs and the Outlet stores are (...) (23 years ago, 9-May-01, to lugnet.general)

When I first started at the Mall of America LEGO Imagination Center in August of 1992, it was the greatest place in the world to me. I just worked there part time, (...)          Re: My first visit to LIC —Mark Sandlin
(...) At my office we have a phrase that refers to management's unwillingness to allow people to telecommute. "Meat in the seat." also known as "Seatloaf" ;^D ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: My first visit to LIC —Greg Perry
(...) Thanks for that comment Mark - I'll be getting some laughs at the office today by passing those terms on to the 2 people out of the 75 I work with who will actually appreciate them. Greg (23 years ago, 9-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: My first visit to LIC —Mike Walsh
Lots of snippage, comments inseted below. I have been to the Orlando LIC a bunch of times as it is (sort of) on the way from the airport to our office in Orlando. I haven't been there in a couple of months though. "Jonathan Lill" (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: My first visit to LIC —David Lewis
(...) I was at this LIC several months ago, and found some old motors (#624) and some Mag Wheel Masters. I started talking with an employee when I was purchasing them, and asked about when they get older sets in and if they had any more. She told me (...) (23 years ago, 10-May-01, to lugnet.general)
