On plates and bricks and normal stuff it sure isn't much, but I heard a story
on RTL a few years ago from someone who'd bought 100 brown horses back in the
late 80's when TLG was still doing these bulk sales. 100 horses sounds like a
pretty good number...

I can think of some large dome pieces that 100 of would probably be too many!
:) 100 monorail switches would definitely be too many. (But 100 monorail
incline-decline pieces would still never be enough. :)

That's the funny/ironic thing about it all -- even if TLG resumed bulk sales
(and I hope they can figure out a way to do it) the way they did before (by the
100), there's still plenty of room for people band together to work around the
minimum-quantity issue or for an intermediary to split things up into sub-100
units. I think there will always be parts auctions.

| (...) Wow, a 100 of any given piece is nothing. I can think of a dozen pieces and minifigs (or just torsos and heads) I'd want more than 100 of. And if they started this up again I'm sure that those who only wanted 2 or 5 could arrange something (...) (26 years ago, 18-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)
