4805 Ninja people has old LEGO logo

I went into my local supermarket looking for Ziplock freeyer bags and
visited the LEGO section, they had some of the smaller Ninja sets in
(these are new for the UK) - the copyrights were 1998 - Made in
Denmark. Anyway I saw 4805 along with them - the box looked the same as
the 1998 ones - it has the old happy LEGO logo on it (1) - copyright
1999 - this set must have been designed in early 1998 but not released
until now.
Does the US ones have this minor weirdness?
