Umm... maybe I missed something, but all I see is the statement "...about
3000 of the vehicles were sold" which doesn't necessarily mean that as few
as 3000 were _made_. On the other hand, imagine if they sold a Town vehicle
like that (with doors!) through S@H nowadays - they'd probably sell more
than 30,000!
My guess is that there was a much larger run of UNICEF vans... perhaps the
rest are still sitting in a warehouse somewhere for LEGO to track down and
move to S@H... well, we can always dream. ;-)
