The Adventurers minifigs has different names around the World.
See http://www.geocities.com/EnchantedForest/Cottage/5900/WhoIsWho/index.html

For the two minifigs in question the following names apply:

"Scarface"         | 1998                        | 2000
========================================
International*     | Mr.Hates                 | Sam Sanister@
North America# | Baron von Barron¤ | Sam Sinister
* International = Europe+Australiasia+Japan
# North America = USA+Canada+Mexico
@Alex Gluipstra in The Netherlands
¤Sometimes misspelled Baron von Baron

"Tophat"            | 1998
======================
International*     | Slyboots
North America# | Sam Sinister

I think the explanation for the "Sam Sanister" on the
box is that the sets are produced in Europe and then
shipped to USA.

After receiving my set 5914 in the mail a few weeks back, I noticed
something peculiar about the title, which is Sam Sinister and Baby T.
Interestingly enough, the mini-fig that comes with the set is Baron von
Barron, right?  I thought, and Huw Millington obviously agreed, when looking
at Brickset.co.uk, that Sam Sinister was the sidekick, the guy in all black
with the magician's hat and hypnosis-like face.

I just wondered if anybody knows anything about this, and hopefully no one
has mentioned it before.

Anyway, check out http://nt1.pncl.co.uk/huw/view.asp?Set=5914-1 or

...not to mention Joe Freeman alias Johnny Thunder, Linda Lovely alias Gail Storm, and so on. Kind of odd, isn't it? Arnold (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.adventurers)
