Here's my first attempt ever at a Mecha. The name SIAM is derived from: Sith Infiltrator Alternate Model. I have never built a mecha before so I do not know if there are specific attributes that I was supposed to model. The model features Darth Maul at the controls within the swiveling head and some heavy artillery built into the arms. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=18660 If you click the UP button on brickshelf you can see a closeup of the head and another photo of the model. Thanks to Mleden Pejic for the inspiration to try something different with 7151. This model uses only the parts found in the 7151 set. I think it would look better without Darth Maul but I did not have another minifig around. Great Job, Ashley! I love alternate model ideas, especially mechs! it appears to be a functional model (articulation, etc) that also has quite a bit of style. Hi Ashley, That's pretty cool. It's very hard to make a mecha with the limitations of the parts from only one set, and I think you've done a good job. (...) That's pretty good. I've tried building alternatives from that set and it's hard. The only one I managed was this: (URL) have to try a mech from a Snowspeeder actually (see the rest of my site). It's nice to know that the people who sell these (...)
