Hi Dan,
Yes, the fig is hollow, besides a few horizontal long pieces that make the
statue stronger. But most of the inside is all air. However, they use 2xX's
bricks and not 1xX's bricks (although they could in most places. After having
build the figure, there were a few additional pieces left (around 8) that can
be used to change the arm-attaching. You can either fix the arms or have them
movable but hanging down. I decided to simpyl put these few elements inside
the model :) . Of course there were two additional Technic connectors as well,
but they appear in any set that contains at least one.
