Here's what I found: a large paper grocery bag, a couple of plastic
grocery bags, a six quart Rubbermaid container and a shoebox full of
stuff. The plastic bags were ripping and Lego elements were poking out
all over and there was a single ratty looking box crammed in one of the
bags-- 6755 Sheriff's Lockup. Lots of zip lock bags-- I could see K'nex
pieces and a Megablox brochure. But the shoebox and Rubbermaid box were
packed with the sort of miscellaneous elements you could spend hours
digging through, so I agreed to pay $35-- the most I have ever spent on
Lego at a single garage sale. (Well I am frugal.)
When I got home and opened the 6755 box (which seemed awfully full BTW),
there was an instruction booklet but it was for Fort Legoredo! It turns
out I bought a complete (we put it together) 6769 except for the box.
Also it appears I got the 6755, 6979 Interstellar Starfighter (largely
assembled with working battery!), 6915 Warp Wing Fighter, 6076 Dark
Dragon's Den, 6335 Indy Transport, the Time Cruisers lab set with all
the blue baseplates, an assembled Crystal Crawler and two Technic sets I
can't recognize in their own zip lock bags (none of these had
instructions and haven't checked for completeness yet). The boxes of
miscellaneous parts contain several Space Police II, Blacktron II and
M-tron minifigs among others, so it must be largely space stuff. Even
the K'nex has a motor, and the Megablox includes what appears to be that
cockpit cover piece Richard used on his Rigor Motor MOC. Oh, and I've
found only a handful of used and abused elements.
So while I still think $35 is an awful lot to spend at a garage sale, I
guess it was worth it (I'll be convinced it was worth it if the 6076 and
6335 turn out to be complete!).
