As a new Mindstorms user, I checked with Lego before purchasing, to get the
roadmap (just in case RIS 1.5 had been discontinued as I could not find a
store in the UK with any stock (ended up that famous store in Regent Street
has plenty))
The reply to my question of "was V2.0 around the corner" to the tech support
address on the mindstorms site was;

Thank you for your e-mail.
V2.0 is not a replacement for RIS 1.5. V2.0 is based on another concept
than RIS 1.5.
V2.0 is scheduled to be released during this summer.

Just thought it might be of interest to someone out there.
PS I now find selling e-commerce solutions boring compared to 2 days of using
of mindstorms!
