Year
CARLSBAD, Calif., Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The new millennium is bringing a year
packed with new adventures to LEGOLAND(R) California. The 128-acre family theme
Park marks its one-year anniversary in March, and continues the cele-BRICK-tion
throughout the year with new reasons to come back and explore the popular
"country just for kids." The following is a rundown of 2000 shows and events:
"Taking the World By Storm" - February 18 through April 30
LEGO(R) Show Place theater, The Imagination Zone
LEGOLAND presents this exciting and entertaining look at weather by Mad
Science(TM). Inside the LEGO(R) Show Place, wacky Mad Scientists Professor
Pruvitt and Crash must give their new invention -- the Weathermaker 3000 -- its
first test run in order to save the world from its current weather crisis. Live
action, hands-on fun, spectacular theatrical effects and computer animation
combine to make this an entertaining and educational show.
One Year Anniversary Celebration - March 18-20
It's been a year since LEGOLAND California opened its doors to eager families.
Park guests can help mark the anniversary at a special three-day birthday cele-
BRICK-tion March 18-20. The fun includes free birthday cake, a limited number
of collectable giveaway items each day and the chance to help build a giant LEGO
brick birthday cake. Guests will make a donation to buy bricks to build the
cake, sign the bricks, and help raise funds for an area children's charity.

Lucasfilm Ltd., this competition is designed to inspire both children and adults
to think about what life will be like in the next millennium. It's the first-
ever contest designed by LEGO that invites people of all ages -- both children
and adults -- to enter, and encourages them to think about innovative solutions
for the future.
BRICK-or-Treat - October 14-31

crowd.
2nd Annual LEGOLAND Partners in Learning Grant - November 17

and honors community leaders. The Partners in Learning program honors one
creatively academic program with a $20,000 education grant for a specific
