I'd like to add a few lights/LEDs to my MindStorms creations.
Which light should I get?

#5033 Lighting Brick - 5 pcs - $5.50

or

#5310 Lighting Brick - 4 pcs - $5.50

Are they lightbulbs or LEDs?
Are they MindStorms compatible?

These are 9v light bulbs, and should work just fine with Mindstorms. With
Mindstorms, you can even automatically use a neat feature of the 5033 brick.
If the voltage is applied one way, the light is steady, the other way, the
light flashes.

Are there other options other than making one myself?

Dacta also has some lighting brick sets which use the same brick as in 5310,
I forget how their cost is in comparison. You can also get the little sound
unit from Dacta.

Of course there is also the fiber optic unit, which is a red LED.
